Swartberg Experience - Circular Tour and Lunch

We take a short hike to the Meiringspoort waterfall, a favorite for young and
old. On a sunny day you are more than welcome to take a swim, the pool is safe for swimming. The Meiringspoort Waterfall is part of the Swartberg UNESCO World Heritage Site. We now proceed to Prince Albert, a delightful South African village in the heart of the Swartberg. We give you time to explore this picturesque town and enjoy the little shops it has to offer. We spend +- 30 minutes where you can also enjoy some drinks for own account.

Day 1: Departing from Oudtshoorn, we travel through De Rust, a small town considered the gateway between the Little and Great Karoo. From De Rust we travel through Meiringspoort gorge, a beautiful canyon winding through the Swartberg Mountains.

From Prince Albert we continue to the highlight of your tour, the Swartberg Pass. This pass is the big daddy of passes in SA and surely one of the most spectacular passes in the world. Your guide will give you time to walk in the reserve or along the road to take in the breathtaking views, fauna and flora. This historic pass dates back to 1881. We have several photo stops along the route where your guide will inform you about the history of the pass, Geology and Fauna and Flora. Enjoy the 360 views over the Little and Great Karoo as we decent along the road towards the end of the pass. We top your experience with a Traditional lunch at Kobus se Gat, known as the best of the Karoo. You will have a taster of everything the Little Karoo has to offer and more.
